What was it like going into labor?

It was actually, I didn't really know I was in labor, and I told my fiance to go to work that morning 'cause I was like, "Oh, no, no.

Like, it's nothing.

I'm totally fine." Um, but I woke up at 6:30 in the morning, and I had, like, some stomach cramps, and I thought it was maybe just, you know, like I had to poop or something.

But when I went to the bathroom, and I noticed there was a little bit of blood coming out, and I was like, "Oh, either this is concerning or it's my mucus plug." So, gotta start paying attention to things.

And then all of a sudden, I just got these wild cramps while I was sitting on the toilet, and I was like, "This...

Hmm," and I couldn't breathe very well through them or think or be on my phone.

How was postpartum for you?

But before you do that, would you mind explaining the phrase in over your head?

Sure.

Imagine you have many things to do, and it almost feels like you're drowning in your tasks.

The phrase in over your head comes from the literal dangerous situation of being in water that is deeper than your height.

Becca, what else do we need to know about this phrase?

Well, don't forget the preposition in at the beginning, in over your head, because if I say over my head without the preposition in, it means I didn't understand something.

For example, if I don't understand someone's joke, the joke goes over my head.

And what makes you think that?

Well, the last time we had such a big project coming up, we had to produce a lot more programs very quickly.

I'm not entirely sure, though.

It is just a hunch.

[upbeat jingle] So it's like an intuition you have about something, when you think something is true even if you can't explain why.

Yes.

We can have a hunch, follow a hunch, or act on a hunch.

It's not so much that we try to prove our hunch is true, but we go along with it.

Mm.

Another one is y- something that you've been raised with.

I mean, unless you were, let's say, converting for them in relig- if you wanted to bring religion into that, but I don't see the context of that.

But you're talking about, like, what you were before, and in my cases, I would not want to date a man that used to be a female.

Yeah, like, what is your opinion on, like, IVF, like people going to sperm banks and stuff?

Like that

But Becca, what do you mean by a flow state?

The phrase flow state gained popularity on social media.

A lot of young people use it as part of their everyday language.

When we enter a flow state, we feel that we are fully focused on something.

It's a kind of mental state where we're fully concentrated on whatever we're doing, and because of that, we feel like time moves more quickly.

We might not think about anything else other than what we're doing, and we might do it more skillfully and easily as a result.

And is it only work tasks that you feel you get into a flow state for?

Not at all.

Hmm, you've got me?

Well, you've got me comes from the phrase, "I've got your back," which if you think about literally means to support someone.

Imagine coming down a ladder and your friend is behind you and helping to hold you up or making sure that you don't fall.

We often use the colloquial expression, I've got you, metaphorically to show support or offer help.

You'll be fine.

[upbeat music] Sometimes got you can be pronounced as got you, especially in some British English accents.

It happens when the letter T is followed by a ya sound, like in Tuesday, tuna, and nature.

this is my problem with her.

She's whining and crying, "Oh, what's society gonna think if we go out in the real world with each other?" You're on a reality show where the entire world is watching you, woman.

And she's like, "Well, I can move, so I'm okay with that, but I think we need to have a conversation about it." These two have no problems.

Yeah.

They're talking about, she tells him, like, "You know, when I was a kid, my parents just introduced a lot of their partners to me, and that was traumatizing.

I wanna do this right.

I, I want slow steps into meeting your kids and..."

I'm like, oh, this got weird.

It was a little weird, 'cause it's like that's, I think, a thought I would have.

Yes.

Like, you weren't even thought of when he started.

When he was done having children, you weren't even thought of by your own parents.

... we, yeah, so I think we, you know, we, we make, you know, d- positive margins on these properties, and so we see that, and we see that, you know, we're paying off our mortgages diligently, our equity is raising, and, you know, we, we know it's, it's gonna help in the end with our financial independence journey, you know, to, to break away from traditional, you know, work environments in the future.

But, you know, how, how is it-

You have good assets, you have other things, but do you wanna be a real estate investor?

So I think I'm open to what it looks like because I do like the aspects of, like, end work.

I'm a project manager, and the real estate investing and managing projects, whether that's flips or, you know, in our case, like a rehab for units, is very much like that.

So I see potential in that, and I had thought about that very deeply, but now that we're, like, a little closer to where our investments are at, like over 500,000, I'm like, "Do I need to do that?" 'Cause to be honest, like, if I'm, if I told you, like, what my ideal day would be, it is not sitting in front of a computer all day.

So real estate investing definitely has that draw of flexibility.

Definitely some similarities, but yeah, I'll go from my own vision.

Our friends have always had a vision of, like, living on land together but in our own separate houses.

And so m- if I'm dreaming, my rich life is to have that house that Nikki's talking about within walking distance of s- at least a few of our closest friends, and that garden being a forest garden with fruit trees and berry bushes that you can walk through and find places to sit and just eat out of the garden.

I want to take four specific types of trips per year.

A ski trip in the winter, a cl- extended climbing trip somewhere new every year for a mission, a river trip like we just did, um, and a backpacking trip.

And I wanna go on, like, a month-long climbing trip in Europe.
