Beaujolais

The French Agriculture Ministry is forecasting twenty twenty-six production at just thirty-three point nine million hectolitres, around six percent below last year and seventeen percent below the five-year average.

The biggest impacts are being seen in Champagne with production is forecast to fall by almost forty-nine percent, while Burgundy, Beaujolais, and the Loire also facing significant declines.

Also to signing, a new global drinks analysis suggests the wine industry's premiumization strategy may not be delivering the growth many producers think it is.

The IWSR found that inflation has outpaced alcohol premiumization for the past four years, meaning higher prices don't necessarily represent consumers buying more premium products.
