I worked for Incase Designs doing LA-based hype stuff.

And then finished the consumer goods portion of my career at Apple working on Beats by Dre and really, really fortunate to be involved in not only shipping millions and millions of goods across a number of different industries, a number of different markets and And regulatory type environments, but also all the roles I had ended up being kind of life cycle type roles where I was not just an engineer or just a quality person, but ended up having kind of more entrepreneurial roles where I was responsible for whole programs, whole projects, whole product lines.

And so was exposed to the product development, the design aspects.

engineering, tooling, quality, production, you name it, cost negotiations and have a chance to everything from figuring out how to make the yellow ink on Mickey's foot on a Beats headphone the right color to keep Disney happy to negotiating a tolerance on a drawing where if I'm right, my company saves a million dollars and if you're right, my company loses a million dollars kind of quality and drawing negotiations.

The exact design of this Apple-made game controller is not yet known.

Interestingly, Gurman reports that this Apple-developed accessory might ultimately be released under the Beats brand, with the project being overseen by Beats executives.

This wouldn't be the first time that Apple has released iPhone accessories under the Beats brand.

For instance, Beats has sold iPhone cases in the past, as well as a wide array of different USB-C cables.

As it stands right now, users can connect MFI or Made for iPhone compatible game controllers to their Apple devices, as well as traditional game controllers like the PlayStation DualShock and the Xbox Wireless Controller.

An Apple or Beats branded game controller could help improve the gaming ecosystem on Apple's products, including the iPhone and Apple TV.

Let's talk about the audio.

Obviously the HTC One has an advantage of the front facing dual speakers with a dynamic EQ named Beats Audio.

It's loud, crisp, it's definitely the best speakers I've heard on a smartphone.

The Note 2 speakers aren't bad either.
