This podcast is created on the current and traditional territories of the peoples of Treaty 7, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy, comprised of the Siksika, the Bikini, and the Kainai First Nations, the Tsutina First Nation, and the Stony Nakota, including Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Good Stony First Nations, as well as the Métis Nation within Alberta, including Nose Hill Métis District 5 and Elba Métis District 6, whose knowledge systems and approaches to understanding our world have sustained communities for thousands of years.

As we approach new technologies and ways of knowing through AI, we recognize the importance of diverse perspectives and the wisdom embedded in established knowledge systems that have long preceded any digital innovations.

CJSW broadcasts from the University of Calgary campus, located on the traditional territories of the people of the Treaty 7 region in southern Alberta, which includes the Blackfoot Confederacy, comprised of the Siksika, Wagani, and Kahnawa First Nations.

We honor the First Peoples who have lived with and cared for these lands since time immemorial, including the Blackfoot Confederacy, Siksika, Kainai, and Pekani, the Tsutina First Nation, and the Iale Nakoda, Stoney Nakoda Nations, Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Good Stoney.

We also acknowledge the Métis people and all Indigenous people with historic and contemporary relationships with these lands.

The beauty of the land and all who share it invites us to respectfully consider the heritage the land holds.
