Again, we talked about this a bit yesterday.

Lake Calhoun, Bidet, Makaskar is probably the best example I can give you.

In Seattle, they're not calling individuals involved in firearm-related crimes shooters anymore.

I don't care because the left has renamed stuff all the time.

Lake Calhoun comes to comes to mind.

We've the left has torn down statues of individuals even remotely aligned with slavery in the in the past, despite the good things they may have done and it being culturally significant.

to look back at the context of what was taking place during those times.

We saw that here in Minneapolis with the renaming of one of our beloved chain of lakes.

Lake Calhoun was named for, for some reason, the South Carolina politician John C. Calhoun, who was a proponent of slavery.

So during this time where we were looking to make some amends and even some reparations from this history of white supremacy in America, Lake Calhoun was changed to Bidei Makaska.

which was actually not a renaming, but an attempt to go back to the original name of the lake from the indigenous tribes that lived here, Bidet Makasta.

And yeah, it takes a little time for white Minnesotans to figure out how to pronounce some of these indigenous names, but we can do it because we're honoring the identity of the land and the lake itself.

It subverts it.

It does that same thing, but it does it for a different purpose.

So like renaming Lake Calhoun to remove the legacy of someone who supported slavery and an enslaver himself, instead, Donald Trump's renaming of the Gulf of Mexico and of Lake Ontario, I don't think his big goal is to honor Americo Vespucci, but instead his goal, again, is to recast the identity of America by renaming.

I think the south side of the lake there in South Minneapolis should be called Lake Bada Makiska.

And then the north half of the lake should be called Lake Calhoun.

I mean,

it's always Lake Calhoun.

Police have identified that victim as fifty-six-year-old Karen Lyn Sonjassand of Maple Grove.

Meanwhile, a third body was found Sunday morning around 11:30 AM near the shoreline of Bde Maka Ska Lake, roughly five miles northeast of the Stone Arch Bridge.

Investigators from the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, who are leading the lake investigation, noted that the remains were found in a severe state of decomposition.

The identity and cause of death in that case also remain unreleased.

The second body was found on Sunday near the shoreline of Boda Makasaka Lake, which is also, well, what is that? Is that Hennepin? Calhoun.

Calhoun, Lake Calhoun.

Yep.

So you got three bodies in three days of people found either in the water or right adjacent to the water.

The body in that case, this is at the Lake Calhoun site.

The police said the body was in a severe state of decompensation.

a decomposition according in other words it was just rotting it had been in the water for a long period of time it's unclear whether the three discovered bodies are linked together so we don't we just don't know that at this time but it's rather coincidental that three bodies in three days all found either in the water or near the water in relatively close proximity to each other.

Authorities are investigating a body found at a Minneapolis lake.

The discovery was made just before noon yesterday near the fishing pier at Bde Maka Ska.

Minneapolis Park Police, MPD, and the Hennepin County Sheriff's Underwater Recovery Unit all responded.

Officials say the body was in a, quote, "severe state of decomposition." Investigators are working to determine that person's identity.
