BCS National Championship Game

Is the college football fan starting to realize that, you know what, I don't need to be on the edge of my seat in September anymore? I don't.

Like, they're getting accustomed to a world where where forget a two-team BCS National Championship.

Forget a four-team playoff.

We're now in year three of a 12-team playoff.

No one can win forever, not even Pete Carroll.

Less than two weeks after the 2009 season ended, Carroll stood on the sideline of the Rose Bowl for the BCS National Championship.

ESPN had asked the coach to contribute to its coverage as an analyst for the big game.

His Trojans had just stumbled to a nine and four record behind a true freshman quarterback.

But I do know that he's had success in his career.

I do know that he was the Heisman Trophy winner and a BCS National Champion and the first overall pick.

I do know that he has utmost confidence in himself.

I do know that he is a leader for this team.

Um, I'm gonna say this and I mean it, and I've said it before on my show, I think more went into that game last weekend with LSU at Ole Miss than any game in the history of college football.

Uh, minus one of our old, say, BCS National Championship games when we had a month to prepare.

Because, and, and maybe even more than that, I mean, the preparation, the discussion, the talk, all of that began literally in December, and it was a talking point almost every day through the entire off-season.

I don't know another game that has had that much attention on it than that game did.

But I do know that he's had success in his career.

I do know that he was the Heisman Trophy winner and a BCS National Champion and the first overall pick.

I do know that he has utmost confidence in himself.

I do know that he is a leader for this team.
