BBC Worldwide

I worked on BBC Two and BBC Three websites, especially in the days as iPlayer was launching and it was kind of that kind of test bed of putting full length content onto websites, which was super exciting.

I then made the move to BBC Worldwide as it was then.

It's now obviously BBC Studios, but I've been there for 17 years, which again is a very long time.

But it's been amazing.

Right.

Or indeed BBC Worldwide or whatever.

It was called when they made it in-house, essentially.

So, yeah, I don't know.

Some of you may have heard of it, KTEH San Jose.

I was privileged to work in the programming department, interfacing with our representatives at BBC Worldwide, to schedule many fine comedies, dramas, and telefantasy series, including Doctor Who, which KTH ran continuously from 1981 until 2003, when financial issues forced us to drop the series.

Uh, in 2000, I added another duty where I became one of the faces of the ubiquitous pledge drives on KTEH, especially for the Doctor Who nights, where I was lucky enough to, uh, work with Peter Davison, Sylvester McCoy, and Caroline Ford.

I'll pick up those names later.

I thought it was quite weird.

Philip Siegel, the executive producer for the proposed new Doctor Who TV movie, appeared at the Edinburgh Science Fiction Film Festival in late August with positive news concerning the long-standing project.

He stated that Fox, Universal and BBC Worldwide had given their approval of the script and that production will hopefully begin the week of November 20th, 1995.

Not quite true, but it was a few months after that.

A two-hour TV film budgeted at $5 million.
