Bauru

No, actually...

This album was recorded in the middle of the pandemic, and I was living in this city in the interior of São Paulo called Bauru, and then I had the idea to record the album there, to use these spaces that are shown in the documentary, and I didn't get the idea to make the documentary right away.

The idea for the documentary came by chance.

As we were doing during the pandemic, there were many projects to encourage culture.

So the idea came totally because there was an opportunity to So,

the whole context of Disco Normal goes through the fact that it was a mid-pandemic recording.

João was living in the city of Bauru, in the countryside of the São Paulo state, and he knew about all these places that some of them come up in a documentary that, well, it would make sense for us to record in this public area, in this place with such a resonance, the train parks and stuff.

And during the pandemic, there were multiple culture grants to fund new recordings that were basically based on live streams and that sort of thing, either city hall or brands.
