Battle of the Diamond

not that far away from Portadown,

just past Blackgall, what the Orange called the Battle of the Diamond took place, which was a major clash between Irish Catholic peasants who lived in the area and those who saw themselves as somehow privileged unionists and British.

It was shortly after the Battle of the Diamond within a year or two that the first recorded church service ever took place of a Thronecree church.
