Two different words.

If you were making a live-action Batman movie, but you were not allowed to base it on Batman Year One, Batman The Long Halloween, or The Dark Knight Returns, what Batman story would you use? And what Batman villain would you use? I would make the Batman story that Bane came out and broke his back.

Maybe you get lucky and see Batman Year One, but even that isn't really exactly analogous to the type of Batman you're going to read today.

And it's certainly a far cry different than Absolute Batman.

Now, that's if you're the reader or just a typical customer.

There are different kinds of Batmans that his books will be about.

You can go and love a Batman Dark Patterns or a Batman Year One, but sometimes you see the Batman, this fucking guy who's just good at beating the shit out of people.

What was that book, Jason Aaron, Batman Offworld? Oh, fuck, that was so good too.

I have the same comment about Birthright as I do about this book, which is it felt like a six-issue story dragged out to be 12 issues.

I was surprised, too, because the original Batman Year One is just four issues.

Kingdom Come is just four issues.

A lot of the Wade stories that I like, Captain America, Man Out of Time, they're much briefer.

It was great too, to see the evolution of the, the, the, the playboy cover, right? Because CPS is immediately like, I wouldn't, we wouldn't trust you with a kid.

They have a pool to see when this is going to be up.

Yeah, but I mean, if you think about the way, you know, the Bruce identity is presented, even just in Batman year one, it's like, well, this makes sense.

Why would you give a kid to him? He's supposed to be seen as being someone without responsibility, so you never think it could be Batman.

I'm not going to spend a lot of time on this, but I have been reading some.

I'm going to read Batman Long Halloween.

I've read New X-Men.

Andre final thoughts on everything long Halloween well definitely if I were to say

don't watch the movie first no absolutely not read the book read the book first so you experience peak and then experience what half of peak is you know half of peak again it's not a book that you need like a lot of background to to get into so like if you're a new person looking for a Batman comic this is one of the first ones that you can go to this one something like this one a lot of people say like Batman Hush is another good one Batman Year One is another good one New 52 you know there's another a lot of them but this is one of them Where it's like, you don't need to know who Harvey Dent's character is before it.

You don't need to know.

We're talking dark victory.

And with me is a guest who has been on this first time reading series the previous two years, starting with Batman Year One.

And then last year, almost exactly a year ago, talking the long Halloween.

It's my friend.

And I'm like, no, I want him to experience Dark Victory going in completely blind.

He has no idea about anything.

So the whole reason for this first time reading is because Batman Year One is probably one of two Batman stories that if somebody who doesn't read comics regularly or at all, it's like, hey, what's a Batman comic that I should read? I think a lot of people would say Year One.
