Batman

So when I became a writer as an adult, it seemed inevitable that eventually those two worlds would collide, my childhood-slash-lifelong passion and my job.

And so I read a lot about comics history over the years, and I one afternoon just stumbled across an article about the creation of Batman.

which was talking mostly about Bill Finger.

And I, by that point, was in my 20s.

I'd grown up reading Batman.

We all grew up having some exposure to Batman, no matter what your interests are.

And I was startled that here I am learning about this guy for the first time as an adult, given how much time I'd put into the character as a fan as a kid.

So it was total happenstance.
