Batdance

Here's your chance to win the fridge magnet.

In what year did Prince, who you've seen live, reach number two with Batdance, taken from the soundtrack to the Michael Keaton Batman movie, which also starred Jack Nicholson? I'd

say 1990.

Oh, guess what? One year out.

I have the Batman theme.

I have Batdance on mine.

I don't know if you can have Batdance on a Halloween.

If she's getting upset about Batdance on the Halloween, that might be...

Do you have Superstition? Stevie Ray Vaughan?

Yes.

The early ones, year one, year two, it's the Joker as murderer.

And then you get into year four, year five, it's team-ups with The Flash and birthday cakes and dancing to Batdance and the Joker riding an elephant while Batman's got no top on.

And then you get into years six and seven, and it's gone dark again.

And it, it messes with Batman's head, because what the Joker's doing here is basically just killing Batman with kindness.

I...

It, it's one of the...

It's either Batdance or Party Man.

[laughs]

It's old.

Prince wrote a concept album about this movie, including The Batdance, which is an overture to a concept album about Batman, which fascinates me.

Right?

Uh, what fascinates me more is that it's a thing that nobody asked him to do.

only find one song with Batman in the title.

Not to say there aren't songs about Batman because, of course, Batdance by Prince was a hit.

And songs from the Batman movies have been hits.

I liked it when Prince got to Batdance because

everyone was saying, Batmania? There's Batmania about? Yes.

What

What?

Batdance by Prince.

Oh, for God's sake.

Oh.
