When L&M Specialty Fabrication opened its town of Batavia office and manufacturing facility in 2019, it marked a big step up for the three-person company which manufactures the Turbotop Onion Harvester with one big exception.

With the satellite connection as the company's only option, large schematic drawings failed to download, phone calls dropped, and video conferencing was off the table entirely.

From the front page of September 17, Motorsports Park Gets Nod in Batavia by Mike Pettinella.

The Town of Batavia Planning Board on Tuesday night approved the site plan and special use permit for Kelley's Motorsports Park to resume operations at its Harloff Road location.

The board, in a unanimous vote granted owner Mike Lauderborn of Rochester, the right to hold races on the weekends along with practice sessions during the week on the three-quarter mile asphalt track that has been a popular destination for go-kart enthusiasts for the past 70 years.

Lauderborn had been working with town officials for months to secure the special use permit.
