Bassem Youssef

Last night...

But Bassem Youssef, the legend, closed out his comedy shows at the Pepperoni Comedy Club.

He did a remarkable show.

He did remarkable shows.

But she's a home cook and an amazing home.

So what was this thing? Because when we had Basim Yusuf on, he said that.

egypt has the best mangoes in the world and he says i said oh no i've had some good ones he goes that's not mango what is he talking about because when i was in egypt i didn't have this mango that he was talking about

man i just watched this video on instagram or something about and this was this egyptian guy like going through all the mangoes and he had 11 different kinds of mangoes um And so, yeah, all these 11 varietals, but I think he said Egypt has over 30 different varieties of mango.

I'll try and condense it.

Uh, 2014, I met a gentleman at our conference named Bassem Youssef, who was a, uh, heart surgeon in Egypt be- who became a political satirist, developed his own television show, became the Jon Stewart of the Middle East.

He was on Time Magazine in fact.

And so he came to me and said, "Can you help me reach the Middle East?" So he and I did a number of projects Uh, in the Middle East.

... "No, no, we must ally with Tucker," and I don't agree with them, and I've said that publicly.

But, but what a lot of good faith normies would say is, "Look, we care about the genocide in Gaza." W- I think Bassem Youssef, who i- is a comedian you know.

He's, I do stuff-

Yeah

It comes with a risk.

Whereas Bassem Youssef says, great friend, he's been here many times, it comes with terms and conditions.

So this film does not have a script.

It's not a film.

But what I am seeing is a worrying infiltration of ideas that are not really that.

I'm thinking here of someone like Bassem Youssef, the well-known comedian.

Now, I don't know Bassem personally, never met him in my life.

He's been a very outspoken supporter of Palestine.

I do not see her as an ally.

You do not want her in the pro-Palestine movement as your friend.

So when someone like Bassem Youssef goes on that podcast and talks about Bondi being a false flag attack and some of the victims faking their injuries for sympathy, what are we doing? What are we doing here? Are we accepting that as acceptable speech because we want a very high-profile ally? Now, Bassem has said lots of important things over the years about Palestine.

I'm not dismissing everything he says.

And, um, I think many Australians seeing it running over the Harbor Bridge, um, the same place where 300,000 Australians stood up there and told our political class that we're not happy with what they're doing [chuckles] right now, we're not happy with the status quo.

I have to now talk to Tony Burke, who granted this, uh, cohort of IDF runners access to Australia, but at the same time, pull Bassem Youssef, uh, you know, that Egyptian comedian that we were speaking about who's very, very famous around the world and, um, has a very popular message.

Uh, is that a character distinction or a political one at the end of the day, right?

Yeah.

If we had a suspected murderer arriving at Sydney Airport and wanting to come into Australia, we'd want to know more about the circumstances, uh, in which the person was alleged to have, to have killed somebody.

You know, the, the, there are, there are legal processes that should be followed.

Well, just like they wanna see the criminal records of Bassem Youssef from, uh, Egypt, they should [chuckles] equally wanna see, um, what's gone on and how many people these people have, uh, may have killed.

So is there a, something to do with the Geneva Convention here? Uh, you know, didn't we sign up to the Geneva Convention? And is there potentially some kind of, uh-
