And today's guest is definitely one of those guys.

Drew Breesy is the head coach at Center College, which happens to be his alma mater, where he's helped take that program to heights it's never reached before.

But Coach Breesy's baseball resume goes well beyond the college game.

He spent more than a decade with USA Baseball, evaluating and coaching some of the best young players in the country.

And that gives him a perspective I've really been looking forward to digging into.

Yeah, that's incredible.

And I got to tell you this, and I'm not so sure I should say this on the air, but I think I have to say it.

So I was watching and I spoke to, I believe it was Coach Sato that I spoke to this about on the previous episode.

I, I do think, uh, it starts off, and we're gonna be high and tight, people.

As you might expect from the episode title and from the description, if you've read it, our guest today is the incoming manager of the Sydney Blue Sox, and his name is Mike Roberts.

Mike is the winningest coach in University of North Carolina baseball history.

He's also an American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Famer, and he's a three-time Cape Cod League champion, also one of baseball's foremost teachers of base running.

He's written two books on the subject, which we talk about in today's chat.

Most recently, he took over a Grand Lake Mariners team that had won only eight games in 2024.

And the way to do that first is to make sure they understand that I want them to have a love for the game, fun.

I want them to play for fun.

So an example I could give you from many summers, and this summer was also true, is I had players write me notes and say, Coach, at the end of the college season this spring, I hated baseball.
