But there are a number of singles out.

Yeah, we've got three songs out right now off the record.

That's the third one.

That one's kind of funny because it started out, I mean, the original idea for that song, I think William had back in like 2017 or Um, and it was like, it was about the same thing, like based on our buddy going through a really hard breakup.

Um, but also it's like seeing the light at the end of the tunnel there.

Um, yeah, it was a bluegrass song and we took it to Sadler and we demoed it out and something just like, didn't quite feel right with like the grassiness underneath, like such a, like a deep message, like kind of dark message like that.

And so he has the superpower of stripping everything away and only keeping what the song is truly saying.

But were you guys getting into this for the sake of writing songs and hanging out with your pals after school? Or did you have grandiose dreams off the bat?

We did not have grandiose dreams off the bat at all.

William and I, we met in English class in high school, and we were both kind of falling in love with bluegrass music at the same time and folk music stuff.

And I was just picking up banjo, and we did exactly that.

We jammed after class, and we started writing songs together, just very organically, naturally, like learned how to play music together and write together.

and craft a song together and all that.

And eventually we had, you know, enough songs to, to make a record.

So what brought about the change? Because a boy named Banjo, it tells so many stories in just a name.

For sure.

yeah yeah no we still love the old name don't get me wrong we have just been a band for a very long time um that's going on 15 years and it kind of felt like we were plateauing a little bit around 2024 like I don't know.

We were all kind of burned out at that point.

You know, just touring, touring, touring, and kind of seeing the same results.

Sure.

Same with putting the music out.

Now, for what you guys have done over the last 15 years or so, are there moments in your careers that you're like, wow, I can't believe we did that? Or, you know, like, do you have that? I hate to put it this way, but do you have that imposter syndrome depending on where you are and what you're doing? Like, you know, as great as you guys are, like, you don't feel like you fit where you are? Does that make sense? Sure.
