Now he was an incredibly accomplished world champion boxer.

There's tributes that are flowing for him from all corners, including a tribute from a fellow boxing champion named Barry Michael.

Now Barry was the one who was interviewed by Channel 7 and he was saying some nice things about Tony Mundine.

But then he made some disparaging comments about Aboriginal people in the process.

So this is the comment.

It appeared in a Channel 7 package that was on Facebook.

Uh, Paul Ferraris was another, and they fought legends.

I mean, Thompson fought Roberto Gerard and Antonio Cervantes, uh, Paul Ferrari, uh, Who did he fight? Someone, Barry Michael, be out there going mad, telling me I should have met Carlos Cerati.

He fought and lost a close fight there as well.

So that's the era he was in when it was really serious about boxing.
