Um, uh, here's one for you, Dan.

The Baroness joins Cobra in G.I. Joe 30.

Yeah.

[laughs]

It's, it's all that sort of classic trope of, you know, what's the Arbco Star sort of thing.

You then flip over, I'll get to that story in a second, but we then flip over to Cobra Island and we have Destro and the Baroness and the Iron Grenadiers effectively cutting, uh, a door, a, a side panel or a door open to the Arbco Star, and it reveals, as they go in, uh, Raptor, Croc Master, and Vultare all dead of course.

Um, oh, Mark is saying, "I think cover list on credits is complete.

30 cover artists on retailer variants, plus six on A to F." Wow.

Um, he's not real- I don't think he's really looking for anything, um, in particular, uh, in that sense.

"I never thought I would set foot in here again.

An unusual place to plant the seed of an empire," says Baroness.

And he's, "On the contrary, my dear Baroness, empires were always built atop ruins, some by lesser men.

if you dare.

The worst thing about that Baroness is that there aren't enough of them.

They never revisited that sculpt properly again later on in the line.

So that's a real missed opportunity.

So I was just saying, I think, yeah, Baroness, they didn't make another one because they just got it right out of the gate.

I'd say the one that they made in the 2000s actually proves that this was indeed a perfect figure to begin with because Chameleon does add sort of red highlights, which I suppose to vary this figure are fine, but it's so good in the pure black.

Uh, Storm Shadow.

A temporary coalition of Joe, Autobots, and Cobra form to assault the Decepticon base and stop the plan.

Baroness stops Bombshell from killing Mindbender.

Ratchet and Mainframe rebuild Bumblebee as Goldbug.

Using the removed Cerebro shell tech, Mindbender helps seize control of Alpha.

The Coalition fights the Decepticons.

Alpha is sent into space, but also detonated without discussion by the Baroness against others' objections.

Cobra betrays the Alliance and flees.

I must flee! The Autobots feeling betrayed and their cooperation with G.I.

So this is obviously Volume 2 of Silent Missions, which Volume 1 was G.I. Joe characters.

Volume 2 features Baroness, Firefly, Copperhead, Zartan, and the Crimson Guard.

Can't believe I remembered all that.

And, yeah, some banging issues in there.

And yeah, just kind of like follows the Joe's invasion of Cobra Island and how Cobra Commander escapes and the Crimson Guard basically sacrifices himself for it.

But it's a great issue.

The Baroness issue, I have issues with.

It's beautifully drawn.

The lights go off and there's a fight scene off camera.

Firefly and Cobra Commander escape and we find Destro and the Baroness waiting for them in a boat.

They escape into a swamp.

where they are heading into the lair of Zartan and the Dreadnoughts, who are a mercenary group affiliated with Cobra.

Zartan informs him that his charity has its limits.

Baroness calls Zartan's land a dump, but it turns out it's actually this high-tech lair.

And Cobra Commander asks the Baroness to explain Operation Cold Slither.

Turns out Destro has created a program that creates rock music and inserts subliminal messages inside of it that will hypnotize people.

A lot goes down.

You know, it's a great kind of showcase of the Baroness.

She is one of the greatest spies in the G.I. Joe world.

So this was a fun kind of look into that.
