You are absolutely right.

You know, a decent surgeon, a decent physician will always have work.

You are getting more accredited medical practitioners because you have the Company of Barber Surgeons, the College of Physicians, and they're actively recruiting.

When the College of Physicians gets started in 1536, I think it is, um, there's no more than a few dozen of them, and their, [chuckles] their membership criteria are quite strict, but by the time you get to, say, 1700, you've got hundreds if not thousands of them.

Tell me about the origins of the, this accreditation system for physicians.

Like, what were, what was the, the impetus for this?

It was basically commercial.

So the physicians were getting a bit annoyed essentially that other people, like surgeons, like these barber surgeons who were kind of a halfway house, were getting on their turf.

Their idea was that they were going to set up a college, and then they were going to be in charge of all the medical practice.
