Barbara Kennelly

So I made a difficult decision and I decided to apply to the Office of the Chief State's Attorney in Connecticut.

Knowing that the work was similar, high level felony criminal investigations, and plainclothes work all all you know jacket and tie unmarked cars state police power and state police authority but we don't work for the state police we only answer to the state's attorneys so i thought that was a viable option for me and i applied and within two months i was back in connecticut working at the office of the chief state's attorney so that was the good news and i i was i was appreciative of of being offered the opportunity and i was very happy with the with the way it worked out although i would have liked to have done my career with the fbi but only if i was going to be in the new england area so that was the compromise that i had to settle on after a couple of years of different assignments within the office an opportunity came up to work fugitives john bailey jr known as jack bailey son of john bailey senior who was the democratic national chairman at one point in in the united states And also, Jack Bailey, my new boss, was the brother of Barbara Kennelly.

Now, Barbara Kennelly at one time was our U.S. representative, was also our Secretary of State.

And for those with a good memory, he also ran an unsuccessful campaign for governor and was defeated by John Rowland.

So the Bailey family were political heavyweights.
