The names probably sound familiar to some of your listeners because the gold miners that settled the region didn't have too much imagination and kept recycling names as they moved chronologically through the various sort of gold rush in Australia and New Zealand.

So we've got a Bendigo and a Bannockburn, and you'll find both of those in Australia as well.

So two vineyards on very steep elevated terraces.

Bendigo, they're sort of glacial formed, and one on the valley floor in the Pisa sub-region, so just on the other side of the river from the two other sides.

He stayed.

So over three decades, Two Paddocks grew from that first little block into s- four small vineyards across Gibbston, Alexandra, and Bannockburn, the only producer with vines in all three of Central Otago's principal valleys.

The farming, it went fully organic, certified from the 2017 vintage.

In production, it was always deliberately small.

That disease never got him.

He went out the way he lived the last three years, undefeated, and he was still farming.

The 2026 harvest came off those Alexandra and Bannockburn blocks in the Southern Hemisphere autumn.

So that was just months ago.

... acquisition of a vineyard, uh, in Bannockburn, I believe, in Central Otago.

Exactly.

Then Akaroa on, uh, Cameron Road in Bannockburn is the last acquisition.

And, uh, we had the keys in November '22.

Then I think we talk in '23 for the inauguration and the visit of Madame in New Zealand.

That was amazing.

And then in '22 we, uh, finally get, uh, Akaroa, and that was all another, um, landscape that was opening to us.
