I'm hoping I steal one of yours because you've stolen almost all of mine as we've done this a couple times now.

Bandon Dunes.

Nice.

Never been to Bandon.

It's the talked about thing.

It's clearly a place that everyone should go.

So we got to get Bandon in there at some point.

That was

I'm, I'm, I'm very lucky when it comes to that.

I would tell you with all of that, uh, there's a lot of places I still haven't been, like, you know, more East Coast or Bandon-

Yeah

... things like that.

The whole thing was, uh, spectacular.

So it's, um, it's gonna be tough for Bandon Dunes.

This is a, uh, the ba- the bar is so high now [laughs].

But a- as you detail with, uh, Brendan on the other show, it's just a, it's a great event.

And team match play, there's just nothing like it.

I was thinking about Bandon, and I think it's got an ability to feel a little bit more like a UK version where-

Oh, it will

... where it's like, 'cause it's such a remote, small place.

And once I was on the ground, I couldn't say no.

You know, we're seeing some aerials of it now, and look, the idea of finding these great pieces of land that have sandy elements to them, that has been a big theme of what we've been the beneficiary of, and that is these wonderful golf courses being built You were a teenager when your dad, right before the turn of the century, turned the key at Bandon Dunes.

How about your own intellectual evolution about what that place has grown to mean and what it's meant for your own journey, identifying pieces of land and building these destinations for people to go play and build not only their own resume of golf, but the fellowship that goes along the way.

How have you grown as a man seeing what your dad started?

I was about 10 in the early 90s when I first stepped foot on the property hosted by Shorty Dow, the longtime caretaker, and my dad.

So I grew up walking the land about 10 years before the course opened.

You know, I think sand, pardon me, I think Bandon Dunes represents adventure golf, and it kicked off this golden age that we're now all living in, and it proved... that golfers would seek out great experiences and great adventure at the end of the world, at the ends of the world.

And that's allowed me and many other developers now to follow in that model and find great sand sites and build great golf courses for the adventure golfer.

Their season will come to an end in a couple of weeks.

Bandon, Oregon, one of the great destinations in the world for golf.

Every day is Christmas Day at Bandon with all that they have to offer the golfer.

And then finally, PLYMOUTH MASS, AN OLD SANDWICH, AND THAT GREAT CLUB AND THAT GREAT MEMBERSHIP, BILL CORE, BEN CRINSHAW, A LOT OF SUNNY SKIES, SOME NICE TEMPERATURES, VALENTINE ALMOST TOUCHING 90.

SO THAT IS OUR LABOR DAY WEATHER FOR SOME OF US.

COUPLE WEEKS TIME, SOLHEIM CUP WEEK BEGINS, IRISH OPEN WEEK, BUT THIS IS LABOR DAY, AND I MENTIONED AT THE BEGINNING OF THE PROGRAM places that, you know, I love being at.

And I was thinking more this time of the year, not places in the South, which are still trying to get the heat turned down a little bit.

And whether it be Frankfurt, Michigan, or Bandon, Oregon, or Plymouth, Mass, or my hometown of Ridgewood, New Jersey, all these places, for a lot of the seasonal clubs, for those memberships, for those staffs.

Yeah, I suppose, you know, um, we had a great game in Church Road against Bandon in the first round.

Um, it was nip and tuck, you know, and then, um, we had a local derby against the Russell Rovers.

Um, we played relatively well in that game, to be fair, and Russell Rovers, um, they fought fierce hard and for every ball, and we ended up in a draw.

Obviously you were hurt in a way, I suppose, and I know I probably wrote you off as well a couple of weeks ago, but the fact that maybe you hadn't played as good as you would have liked in the earlier rounds.

I suppose, um, well, like the, the opposition have a lot, a l- a lot to say in that, you know.

Bandon are very credible, formidable team, well-coached, you know.

Um, like that was a very high-scoring game in the first round, you know.

Um, again, the derby game against Russell Rovers and that, they have a lot of good hurlers, and I suppose we feel we've a lot of good hurlers, you know.
