Research Ed is coming to Bandon in County Cork.

We'll start off with the biggest story, which is the EU Kids Act.

Not necessarily solely an education story, but definitely one that affects children.

And finally...

the thing that wasn't in the news, or certainly wasn't found in the news, is probably the biggest news of all.

ResearchEd is coming back to Ireland, and it's coming to Bandon in West Cork.

ResearchEd is kind of the research equivalent of TED Talks, if that's a good way to call it, I don't know.

You're in West Cork, are you, these days?

Yeah, so I work in the MTU Cork campus, but I live in the Bandon area, so West Cork.

Plenty of storms, high ground, snow.

They haven't been in action actually since July 10th.

So you're talking... two months so we know how hard it is for divisional teams so it's a big ask for Carberry to take down the Bears the Reigning County Champions albeit the Bears have lost two games but what could help Carberry is the fact that the likes of Benfield Blues and Bandon and Gabriels so many of the teams it can make you be further down in the county championships their championship season is over so now you'd hope that the carberry management can get access to those players for the next couple of weeks so you could have a carberry team arriving to hamilla that could be better prepared than it would have been then let's say some of those teams were in quarterfinal action

themselves that weekend so yeah all set up for a massive weekend

But it's something we saw kind of replicated down throughout the grades, Matthew, from that Premier Intermediate, Intermediate A and Premier Junior.

It's only had to go on.

from Carberry and Beara who've got through to the knockout stages and we've had a lot of big teams go out in terms of Bantry Blues, Bandon, Gabriel Rangers, Island Rovers, Kilmacaby, then you go down to Prima Juno, Orhan are in a relegation scrap.

So it's been, besides Adrigal, and they've had a superb campaign so far, going straight into the semi-final, it has been an underwhelming campaign in those bottom three grades for the West Cork clubs.

so this choir it's a fun choir it's for people who just want to get out and have a bit of crack you don't have to have any musical background exactly tell me about it Nicky

So the choir, we rehearse three days a week in the city centre and we've just expanded now to Firmoy and Bandon.

And the ethos of the choir is just that singing is really fun and we should do more of it.

So we let everybody come for a free taster night first to see if the choir is for them.

And we don't rehearse, like as you were saying, it's not the usual choir repertoire.

Mm-hmm.

It's anything that people would enjoy listening to on the radio, what they listen to in their free time, and just building a space in the city, in Fremoy, in Bandon, for enjoying indie music, rock music, pop music.

Stuff you wouldn't normally.

So we're happy to get over here with our lives really, to be honest with you.

Bandon, I thought, were outstanding.

Scrambled very well there in the second half.

Made it very, very difficult for us to even get over on half at times.

But I thought our lads were great there in the last 10, 12 minutes, especially to kind of get on three scores there when the game levelled up.

at one point, I think it was one eight to eleven points each.

So we showed good hearts to kind of get back into it, get ahead again, but equally Bandon showed great resolve there to kind of come back at us again.

We can thank our goalie really I think at the end of the day, I think he done two great saves there towards the end of the game, so we'll take the win.

Andragol could still get a semi-final place if they win that game, but they are true nonetheless.

As for the other three West Cork teams, it's a must-win for Ireland, for Bandon and for Gabriel Rangers.

Ireland Rovers are in Group 1.

They face Bothavent in Carragher Druds.

on Saturday at 3pm they have to win that Gabriel Rangers face up against St Finbar's B team in Ballinacarraga in group 2 they have to win that game and hope Mitchelstown beat Drums Harroff elsewhere and then in group 3 Bandon against Borbwee that's an effective preliminary quarterfinal a win for Bandon there will most likely be enough to make the knockout stages, but they need Adrigal to do them a favour in the other game and beat Kildare.

So, must win for three of those West Cork sides, Ciarán.

And as for Adrigal, they can relax a small bit.

So they'll want to, like I said earlier about Clannachilty and teams that are on the brink of qualification, you want to build up a bit of head esteem, a bit of momentum.
