Band on the Wall

They released their EP Do I Bore You and they've released some fresh material this year, singles like Only When You Mean It and the one we've just played, Save It For The Weekend.

Just the one gig coming up at Band on the Wall so far.

Anyway, that's their biggest headline show to date, October the 23rd, which is a Friday.

So, yeah.

Now, though, I'm going to feature on the show today The Jazz Tech with Art Farmer and Benny Goldson from the album Another Gets Together in 1962.

So that's coming up in a little while.

Formed in 2023.

And they're playing Band on the Wall with Fray Everyman on October the 23rd in Manchester.

Great venue, that, Band on the Wall.

I'd left home.

uh and uh so yeah i met him on the tuesday and i played my first gig at band on the wall on the thursday we had one rehearsal at my mom's house i was living at home at the time i had i was ill and i had to go back home and we had one rehearsal in my bedroom and then played a gig the next day uh and at that gig martin was playing in another band uh This was at the Musicians' Collective, which was the Arts Council gave a grant to this hippie industry who put a knight on a bang on the wall.

And bands could play there for free, basically, like Joy Division, The Fall, all bands started there.

And Martin was playing in another band called Alien Tint, I think.

And we had a set of about, I don't know, eight tunes, I think, maybe.

Well, we kept on adding to the set, didn't we? Yeah.

But it was Tony Wilson, Rob Gretton, who had seen us play at Band on the Wall, who was Joy Division's manager, who told Tony about us.

And then Tony put us on at the Russell Club.
