Hello and welcome to A Game of One's Own, a podcast all about solo and duet role-playing games.

I'm your host, Maddy Searle, my pronouns are they, them, and today I'm playing Sample, a solo game by Banana Chan of Read Write Memory.

In this game, I'll be taking on the role of an electronic dance musician called Leonard, who goes by the stage name Neville.

In this episode, I'll be reading text from the game book which describes what happens to my character, and then answering prompts as the character.

I'll also be creating a song out of scraps of melodies, and depending on which ones I choose, the path my story takes will change.

The text in the second person, addressing the player character as you, is written by the game designer, Banana Chan, and describes the situations Neville finds himself in.

Anything that I write myself will be in response to the prompts from the game book, and I'll be writing them in character as Neville, using the first-person perspective.
