Baltimore Comic-Con

So it actually started out as a Halloween costume, a little bit more serious than your average Halloween costume.

And then I started wearing it to cons when I started going to cons, um, which was my first one ever was Baltimore Comic Con in 2013.

And I wore that costume there, but I didn't really start going, going until I, um, graduated from grad school, which was middle of 2014.

And then I went back to Baltimore Comic Con and then the next year went to Katsu and then it just, it snowballed.

And then I was like, oh, hey, I'm really good at this.

Maybe I can make a career out of it.

start like 40s like it's almost exactly 80 years in December

hey friends pardon the interruption but this is Brad coming to you from the far future after Lisa and I have done a bunch of research in preparation for our Archie comics panel at Baltimore Comic-Con Archie first appeared in Pep Comics number 22 in December of 1941.

So Archie is celebrating its 85th anniversary this year.

Oh, okay.

You really should be proud of the work that was presented.

All right, I mentioned this at the top, the 2026 Ringo Awards were held this last weekend at Baltimore Comic-Con.

Absolute Batman won Best Series.

It's another significant piece of recognition for Scott Snyder and Nick Tregoda's book, which has become one of the biggest commercial success stories of comics maybe ever.

So if you've been listening to my episodes here on The Daily Rios, or over at Comic Geek Speak, you know that I'm heading to Baltimore Comic-Con today, Friday, September 25th.

Shane and Pants and I are heading down.

It's my third year in a row for my recent visits.

I'm sure I'm gonna shop, but maybe I won't come back with so many comics.

So, you know, I usually like to do a wrap-up on Friday, or some Feedback Friday, but I'm gonna hold off until next week.

Um, and since I am recording this before I head down to Baltimore Comic-Con, let me throw you some questions as I wrap up week 12 of year 15.
