Ballymun tower blocks

It's apartments.

That's because you're from the Ballymun Flats.

They're the Ballymun Flats.

I lived in the UK for like 20 years, right? Everybody says flat in the UK.

It's only in Ireland that flat is considered to be some kind of diminutive term.

Yeah, there was a huge difference.

So we moved away from flat, you know.

And then when the Ballymun flats were built, it was like, oh, my God, there's no flats in Rothgar, you know.

Yeah.

And actually, by the time then we seem to have copped ourself on and I'm talking about the the role of city architect Herbert Sims, the Ballymun Flats project.

We certainly kind of found a need to house people densely and in cities where they actually wanted to live and work and could get work.

We did that, albeit the restrictions and deprivation that subsequently happened, but it was with good intent, not much money and a desire to do things differently.

So they, they came up with the new spot, the Ballymun Flats.

And the original Ballymun was just like-
