Moving on, when every second counts in a medical emergency, the difference between life and loss often comes down to people who may be just living across the road from you.

And across our local area, from Virginia and Ballyjamesduff, out to Killincare and Lakeside Manor, we are lucky to have dedicated volunteers who are bridging the gap, that vital gap, while ambulances are on the way.

So on this edition of the Virginia Roundup, we're taking a look at their incredible life-saving work, how the community can get involved, and what it takes to answer the call when somebody needs help the most.

And I'm delighted to be joined on the Virginia Roundup by, uh, Rolf McLaughlin, who is the chairperson of the Virginia Community First Responders, if I have that title correct.

Everybody who joined the team says, "Oh, when you see the relief on the face when you come to them, it's just so rewarding."
