Ballyboden

Uh, but this is a man who contacted Rathfarnham Garda station in the aftermath of Philip's disappearance to say he was driving along Ballyroan Road from Ballyboden Road on that day, uh, between 20 past 1:00 and half 1:00 on that afternoon, Thursday, 23rd of October, 1986, the time Philip is believed to be walking to school and then vanishes.

This man said he saw a red colored car.

Uh, it came to his attention because it was badly parked and obstructing traffic.

... and excavations of open ground.

Never of houses or private property like that, but of open ground.

Uh, and you've everywhere from Firhouse, Knocklyon, Ballyboden, Tallaght, Templeogue, all these areas, uh, where a car could have driven Philip quite quickly.

Yeah.

So she's just really looking forward to Nancy coming over.

Uh, but then the actual reality is that plane journey, that ticket she'd already bought, she's using to come over because she's been told that, by Annie's friends, that she's missing.

He was actually living over in Italy.

at that stage and he was in a relationship with an Italian woman I remember one quote that Dermot gave me which again it's from people who knew Annie that we learn so much about Annie he told me when I was going out with Annie she was renting a cottage in Ballyboden it was out in the wilds it took about two hours to get there from Maynooth but Annie wouldn't live anywhere else she just loved that cottage Annie had a romantic view of Ireland that most people would find corny But she just loved this country.

She had the most beautiful, warm voice.

So Annie's other relationship was more of an on-again, off-again situation with Philip Brady, another man from Dublin.

And it wouldn't have been unusual for Annie to talk about going for walks in Enniskerry or the Wicklow Mountains because she'd done it.

And she'd actually brought Ida and Jill out to Johnny Fox's pub previously to socialize as well.

So she was known to... head out, and we were talking about her living in Ballyboden years before.

Although she lived in Sandymount, she was as quick to get on a bus and go travelling somewhere to go for a walk as she wasn't.
