I loved the library.

We had just one bookshop in Ballina and buying a book was a treat.

Because books... were and are expensive and I suppose our bookshop was curated by the local bookshop owner which is a good thing but I suppose like I often tell people I didn't discover Roald Dahl until my children were born because you were reading from somebody else's list but the library the library had everything and you could get into any section that you wanted okay so I suppose by the time I was like 12 I went through 12, 13, 14 I went through a big biography phase you know and so I like all of the big Hollywood glamour, all of that, just, you know, when you're at that age and you're just, oh.

And even now today, then we had a library that was like, oh, it was a flat roof building.

The 11-night stay started on March 17, the day she was sworn in.

But yeah, that's actually a friend of mine who lived in Berlin, a guy who's from Ballina.

He was living here for years and then moved back and opened up this venue.

I guess he probably inspired a bit by the Berlin music scene, as in there's plenty of venues here that just don't try to cater for everybody.

But, there's talk that some of them have holidays booked and that sort of thing if that's the case that's that's not that's not handy no

no and it has it has blown wide open I think if you're to you know we always talked about the eight teams that make quarter finals in the yeah you know Ballina not more and Ballintubber I think they're all gone now they're three of the sort

They should be better than they were.

Yeah, I've watched Knockmore now in the flesh four times in the last two years in Championship Football.

And they lost the final to Ballina, uh, very, and it was, uh, it was poor.

Like, it's been one team effort after another now for me, which is hard to understand coming from, you know, a Ray Dempsey managed team and coming from the club that is Knockmore.

Look, look, call it straight.

It was bad form of Alan Dillon not to acknowledge his colleague in Baal and give her the appropriate credit.

And then arising

out of that, what happened?

There was never any dynamic of a power struggle there.

This is completely different.

You have a guy, he was an independent councillor, he's up in Ballina, a million miles away, and then he joins Fine Gael.

And Dylan... is not prepared to be anyways respectful, courteous or collegiate with his colleague in Ballina, his colleague in Ball, his colleague in Westport.

Yeah, you're dead right.

So I spoke to a very nice guy there called John Kelly and from Ballina and he was the manager there at the time and I arranged to meet him and he was very good Very helpful.

And he said there was a new scheme starting off that if you started your own business, you were allowed to keep your dole money for, I think it was a year and a half, to get you up going on your feet for the new business.

And I think I was the first, if not the second, in Mayo, in the Castlebar region, to start that.

Well, hard to believe there's only one county player out of the three names I'm about to name.

Shane Sexton from Cuthill Celtic, in at number 13, had his best game of the championship to date.

Mayo was blue skies and incredible.

So I was out in Belmullet and went out to Blacksod, out to the lighthouse, and then back up to Ballina, and I got clear skies the whole way, and I was very pleased with myself.

There's someone looking out for you, I tell you.
