Noel DundonPANELIST
29:22
Again, tonight we referenced the football element and the advantages maybe that the football element brings to Hurling teams.
Noel DundonPANELIST
29:31
And Ballina probably have that too from playing senior football.
Noel DundonPANELIST
29:35
Quite a few of those guys there in the Ballina Hurling team have been playing with the senior footballers as well.
Noel DundonPANELIST
29:42
And the energy, there's plenty of running in the legs and all that.
Noel DundonPANELIST
29:49
You'd have to feel for temporary.
Jim CollinsHOST
49:55
There's a few other things.
Jim CollinsHOST
49:56
There's art on the bridge there, the bridge in Kiddaloo, Ballina.
Jim CollinsHOST
50:01
That will be over on Saturday the 12th.
Jim CollinsHOST
50:04
That was on this Saturday.
David FlemingPANELIST
50:06
And indeed, over as well was the artist's exhibition in St. Flannans in the same place.
David FlemingPANELIST
50:13
So it was a weekend full of art down in Kiddaloo, Ballina.
Jim CollinsHOST
50:18
Yes.
Jim CollinsHOST
50:19
There's a recycling East Clare community co-op are looking for to donate their returnable bottles and cans.
Shane BrophyGUEST
29:41
If they're ready to go, they'll be hard to beat.
Shane BrophyGUEST
29:44
And with Ballina, I suppose they've been able to have full focus on Hurling the last few weeks after being eliminated from football.
Shane BrophyGUEST
29:53
And I think North champions last year, just the calibre they are.
Shane BrophyGUEST
29:57
And then you go to this year's North champions in Silvermines, like they were...
Johnny LubyGUEST
12:28
You know, their facility, a lot of their facilities, they were just, uh, there long, for a long, long number of years, and that the likes of Golden Kilfeacle are putting up another second pitch.
Johnny LubyGUEST
12:37
I see Ballina and Duella have done it.
Johnny LubyGUEST
12:39
There with the girls playing the Camogie and the ladies football and that.
Johnny LubyGUEST
12:42
It is brilliant to see.
SeanHOST
11:49
Golan being impressive, like we said earlier, 325 they scored against Airog, and the character got 125.
SeanHOST
11:55
Another game, that group, Borland came out on top, 316 to 212 to Ballina.
SeanHOST
12:00
So that left that group then with Golan top, three from three, Borland well at second, Airog were into primary quarter finals on behalf of Winda West, and Ballina are into relegation there.
SeanHOST
12:10
So all the teams are can they still go in this group there? But Golden, they're moving well.
SeanHOST
12:15
We said they're scoring free-flowing and they got three wins from three, topped the group and it's the way that can be qualifying.
Noel DundonPANELIST
12:21
Yeah, they're moving well and possibly the team that we would have tipped at the start of the year if they found their form to do that.
Noel DundonPANELIST
12:29
I saw the, I was at the Borlachan versus Ballina game, final game of Hurling 2 and they kind of turned really on the dismissal of one of the Ballina cornerbacks Patrick O'Donovan it was a big loss to them and that happened maybe around the 10 or 11 minute mark so they were a long time without the 15 players you know but for all that ball that produced a really really good performance they really dug into Borlahan and it was only kind of in the concluding stages that Borlahan pulled away from them really like with 10 minutes to go it was level and Borlahan just finished that little bit stronger with Shane Mildahey coming on again and working the article for them, you know.
Noel DundonPANELIST
13:11
And
Michael DundonGUEST
27:16
Artvinen, as you probably know, won by three points, 1.13 to 1.10.
Michael DundonGUEST
27:20
But Ballina gave everybody as good as they got and had a couple of goal chances that Keanu Mahoney and the Artvinen goal made a few good saves.
Michael DundonGUEST
27:30
It came down to very fine margins at the finish.
Michael DundonGUEST
27:34
Ballina had an early goal.
Michael DundonGUEST
27:36
after 14 minutes from one point there were 1, 2 to 3 points up just at that stage but Gerry Cronin on 23 minutes who actually had an excellent game for Art Finnan his fielding was worth watching he got a goal for Art Finnan on the 23rd minute and they led 1-7 to 1-6 at half time to as tight as that the second half was no different Art Finnan got a bit of a run where they got three points on the trot from Michael Barlow, Michael Barlow 2 and James Murphy, and they went 1.12 to 1.9 ahead with eight minutes to go.
Michael DundonGUEST
28:16
They lost the man then, Jack O'Neill, to a red card, so they were under pressure at the finish, and they held out tough.
Michael DundonGUEST
28:27
Ballina had a chance at the very end, Free and Stephen O'Brien had a blast for a goal, but they were never going to get the goal after 14 yards free.
Michael DundonGUEST
28:38
It was a penalty they wanted, but they hadn't time to go for a point.
Tom HanleyPANELIST
45:39
Yeah.
LukeHOST
45:39
I see also on page 13, uh, En Plein Air, and, uh, forgive my, uh, mascara French language, an event, uh, taking place in Killaloe and Ballina on Saturday, September 12th from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
LukeHOST
45:55

LukeHOST
46:04
So there's, uh, the meeting point of the Lough Derg and the Shannon provides a particularly spectacular setting according to the artist.
LukeHOST
46:13
And, uh, to reserve a spot to exhibit, uh, you can email trishtaylorthompson@gmail.com. And Trish, of course, is a, a contributor on the radio here as well, that, uh, we, we, we sort of put out a, a podcast that, uh, she is a, a part of a team on...
