Yeah, that's a good one.

But I also just really enjoy the deck.

So I really wanted to play Bowmasters, Baleful Strix, Overlord of the Belmerk.

And I also really wanted to play Clair and Conqueror on my sideboard and some of the other decks I was playing.

Monster.

Also, it's really good with... aether vial just like playing it on two maybe they countered something you can vial in whenever you get back things like that

um so you said you've been playing around with these birthing ritual decks and uh couldn't quite make it work didn't you trophy with one last week

i did i did so i was talking about how much i like birthing ritual to my friend maps in and he said here play this deck uh and then i promptly five owed with it and i was like oh that was pretty good uh so it was he must be smart smart and handsome i don't know so it was a bug birthing ritual deck and it was playing all good cards which i've played birthing ritual and modern a fair amount and the problem that deck has it has a lot of bad cards in it there's there's a lot of just random blue creatures you're playing so that you can play flare of denial and if you get behind it really struggles with getting back up and catching up to your opponent because you're just drawing these like two mana one ones and if your opponent is killing you they don't really stop your opponent from doing any of that But this Legacy deck, it has Baleful Strix, it has Bowmasters, it has Tamio Brainstorm, and then you're backing all of that up with Force of Will, you have Six Forces Main, and it just felt like everything you're drawing is interaction with your opponent, or it's drawing you additional cards so you can find those Birthing Rituals.

and it felt very strong it was good uh that was part of the reason i also wanted to play esper vile was like i just really enjoyed my time playing bow masters and baleful tricks and i was like i could just do that and also play my white cards that i really want to play so but the birthing ritual was actually very good um especially with Quantum Riddler, being able to warp it and then stack your triggers correctly and sacrifice it to Birthing Ritual, which I was on the phone with my wife for part of the league, and I made the mistake of clicking the Birthing Ritual trigger first so that it went in the stack underneath of the Quantum Riddler warp trigger, and I was just looking at it like, oh no, I think I lose now.

I took the very first draft of Barf's Blue Black Fairies list that he posted on Twitter and took it for a spin, including Baleful Strix and Cutdown.

Cause, cause usually it's, even if I play the tap black source that, that unlocks snuff out and that's free.

Cards that were set to common that were definitely not common before this, and such as...

I think one of the biggest ones was Baleful Strix.

And as I understand it, they kind of wafted, and they were like... okay, they're not legal in paper popper.

And then it was like, no, no, they are legal in paper popper.

Either way, I got to pull it up here.

The point is they banned Narcoma, but they banned Price of Progress.

They left Baleful Strix legal, but on a, quote, very short leash.
