Bagad

My brother was asked if he wanted to go out and play the snare drum with Baga Delorion, or in Breton they're known as Baga Sonerion Anorion, and he said he couldn't take the time off work.

So I sat at the dinner table one night and said to Mum, do you think, like, in a hushed voice, could I message Paul... who is a piper from Pitlochry who has travelled out to play with the Bagad for 20 years and just to see if there's a space for me to go because it's always been something I've wanted to do since I knew what a Bagad was and she was like yeah just go for it so I messaged Paul and got the yes from the Bagad and off I went so March was I spent 10 days out there and we played at the what do you call it the first leg sorry of the of what they call the Champion National de Bagadou, which is basically like the huge championships and they split it.

One competition in, well, March, so winter-ish, and then the summer competitions held during Lawrence Festival in August or the end of July.

So, yeah, we got sixth in grade one at the first competition.

No, I'm already in contact with all my friends from Lorient and they're sort of, well, in fact, the dancing group that the Bagad often plays with for the parades and whatnot, they're going to the same festival as well as some big named Bagads, some very famous ones like Camper.

And I think Ron said more are going as well.
