Babur

He's traveling with a dog he acquired in a village as protection against wolves.

Dog's name is Babur.

I think the thing I remember most is not fear of walking into villages, but a moment when I was walking across a snow plain and I'd been walking for a long time, and it was a very long way between villages, and I hadn't seen anyone for hours and hours and hours, and I couldn't see any end to the snow plain.
