So there's a central figure in this story that the whole thing kind of gravitationally revolves around.

He's a cult member named Azuma Murakami, and he's the kind of linchpin to the story.

He was working for the group's newspaper, Sekai Nippo, in Japan.

While working there, he became fascinated and frustrated by this kind of, like, corded digital device that was used for photo typesetting it was like a kind of stylus thing but it had a big cord on the end and he was using it to try and you know do stuff with photos for the newspaper and after growing just out of his mind frustrated with this he was like you know what fuck it i'm just gonna make it myself so he built a cordless stylus that would be used to edit photos

There is a YouTube account with the name Kamimura Higashi, and it's a man teaching math problems.

It's not even his pseudonym.

It's his full name, Azuma Murakami.

That's the YouTube account, not his pseudonym from the spirit world stuff.
