My high is that I am so thrilled to finally be able to talk about this.

I'm talking about this as if it happened to me, and it was not me, but it was my friend Ayana Lage, who was on Oprah's podcast.

Back.I was very aware of the risks of postpartum mental health.

You know, I'd heard of postpartum psychosis.

Like, I was just, like, on top of the world.

This is Ayana Lage.

I talked to her while reporting this story.

Ayana says that her husband noticed she was acting more animated than usual but chalked it up to having just given birth.

What I now know is psychosis.

How much of that do you remember? And how is it described to you by your family? Like, how is the psychosis version of Ayana different than, you know, your normal, like, bubbly, energetic self?

So I remember more of it, I think, than I expected to remember.

Because, I mean, it was still, like, just like I'll remember our conversation.

So I started posting around online, which, um, is always like a double-edged sword, but I think I'm glad that I did.

And not even posting like about the case, but about postpartum psychosis and what it can make you do and how we view it and like how that affects outcomes.
