Awatere River

New Zealand's Sileni Estates Winery in Hawke's Bay is set to close at the end of twenty twenty-six after almost thirty years of production.

Owner Booster Wine Group will move winemaking to its Awatere River facility in Marlborough and Gravity Winery in Tasman while retaining the Sileni brand, which currently exports to thirty-six countries.

The closure is expected to result in job losses and will reduce the company's physical production footprint in Hawke's Bay.

New research is showing how drone imagery could allow growers to monitor individual grapevines rather than treating an entire vineyard block as one management unit.
