Avigdor Miller

Can you figure out what's, what's really going on inside? And if you can do that, often, uh...

I studied, uh, Baruch Hashem under the tutelage of, uh, Rav Avigdor Miller, Zechariah Bracha, and he once taught us something very, very beautiful in this area.

He said that, uh, the Gemara teaches, uh, "Chashav laasot mitzvah v'neanas v'lo asaha, ma'aleh alei v'katuv ili asaha." That sometimes if somebody really wants to do something, they just can't.

Then God consider it as if they, uh, it's tantamount to actually having observed it.

He was born and raised in America and he went to learn in Lithuania.

Rabbi Avigdor Miller, that his discourses, his Sfudim, reach global from one end of the world to the other.

He was born in America and he went to learn to Lithuania.

Rav Gifte, the Rishishiv of Antels, and many other Gdoilai Hadar were born in America and went to learn in Lithuania.

It's very hard to be on smiling.

You know, uh, it says Rav, Rav Avigdor Miller would practice his smile.

He'd stand in front of the mirror.

[laughs] He'd practice his daily look.

As a matter of fact, the greatest rabbi that ever lived in America.

His name was Rabbi Avigdor Miller.

He lived in Brooklyn in Flatbush.

And he was asked probably 30 or 40 years ago, 40 years ago probably, he was asked, is that a good thing that Christianity took over America and were very dominant here for hundreds of years? Or it's bad? What's the dilemma? If you say that Christianity, they're following an idol, they take a human being and turn him into a god, which is making it an idol-worshipping.
