Now the one concern in the defensive secondary, not how they played, it's Avery Helm was questionable.

And that was, as everybody knows, that was one of the major issues you and I'll be needed to clean up after last season.

um and paul cutler's defense like we've seen and like i've talked about and like we've hit on against memphis you know they can create negative plays they could get sacks and create turnovers but the problem was being consistent it was you're good for two downs then you have a really bad down and now the memphis is set up in scoring territory now your bend don't break hopefully you can hold them by to three and that was something that he said was supposed to improve this offseason with the full offseason in the system, and we kind of didn't see that against Hawaii, but there was enough optimism to be able to see, okay, there were growth, there were steps, you can see different plays, you know, Dee Creighton's athleticism, Cam Santee's play style, the improvement from Jake Pope, having Denver Harris and Avery Helm, you know, they're dinged up, but that's what it is, but During what football season does not players start to get dinged up? Like Jake Pope mentioned after the game, his quote was, we let up some explosives and that's really what it came down to on the defensive side of the ball.

That's accurate.

It's also one of the reasons why Hawaii is so interesting.

Avery Helm was one of like workout, not even workout warrior, just like a DB Jordan that like if he ever got to the Combine, Al Davis.

Al Davis would be like, yo, first overall.

If he puts out a depth chart to the media pregame, what that two deep looks like.

Is it going to be a Denver Harris that steps up? Because you have Avery Helm on one side.

Who is it going to be on the other side? Is it Harris? Is it going to be one of the younger guys like a Tony, Louis, and Nick? Or is it going to be somebody different? Is it going to be somebody that we don't expect? You know, it's going to be interesting to see how everything gets shuffled.
