I asked why she made the movie and what she's learned.

I think, I'll say like in the documentary art form, When you're starting out, a lot of times you don't know what it's about.

You don't know the question that you're asking.

And I think you have to push again into risky territory, uncomfortable things.

And at the time, I was actually making Desert Pavement around the time we started making Finding Lucinda.

I was experimenting with different art forms and wanting to do a project that involved some kind of documentary storytelling.

And so we just started making this film.

So I think I'm going to share American Flag.

And that's the first song off of my next album.

I wrote it based on an experience that I had during the pandemic.

So I was living on a ranch and I had always been interested in taming and gentling a wild horse.

I had worked with wild horses, but never fully untouched wild horses.
