So we got two Avengers books.

The Chip Kidd of it all.

I'm like,

Yeah, that's him.

What?

And also wrote this Avengers book.

I thought, you know, I can be kind of up and down on some of his work, uh, across the Marvel line, even though I, I like what he does for, for our artwork.

I think he can kind of over-render, like, special effects and stuff in Avengers comics.

Like, I, I think the big Doom story, whose name is escaping me right now-

Doom Quest or, or-

You could make the equivalent to sort of like, uh, r- racial profiling or whatever, but w- what seems clear to me is we know that Griffin was involved in the Queen's Cola scheme, and the opening of this whole run was Rhino silently attacking the city, almost under mind control.

And what do we get here? A silent Gwen attacking the city, right? Except the change is now the heroes are doing it.

And it seems to me, and, and if you read the sort of larger Marvel world that's going on right now in the pages of, uh, the Avengers comics that are launching and Daredevil, there is an anti, uh, supers thing going on, which I think is a bit repetitive.

We've seen that just recently.

And like I said, I didn't even think about it.

And coming out after Avengers Endgame Encore is going to be fresh in your mind.

If you go see the movie.

If you go see Avengers Endgame on court, it'll be fresh in your mind.

You know, so that's actually cool.

That we'll probably see the scene again, but from a different perspective, which is the AI's perspective.

I'm like so excited for that.

And I really can't wait to Encore come out because then I can finally wear my Marvel shirt.

What's so special about this movie in particular is that, like, it really didn't matter, like, what your relationship to Marvel or the MCU fandom was 'cause everybody could have an opinion about the, like, moral, ethical dilemma that is at the heart of this film.

Yeah.

The Avengers are just broken.

Yeah, and I think for the first time we saw, like, them fully, truly lose.

Yeah.

Also, right around this time, Scott's younger brother, Alex, gets really into centrist politics.

There's this thing called Uncanny Avengers.

which is where the hottest X-Men join an Avengers team to make Captain America feel better about bigotry.

Sometimes this is about the two groups learning to see eye to eye, but it's mostly about the Avengers calling the X-Men whiners and the X-Men internalizing it.

This led to Havok's still infamous M-word speech, which, long story short, is a plea not to be seen as a mutant, but rather as a guy named Alex.

Ha! Obviously, the mutant metaphor got really fucked up in Uncanny Avengers, but that's a story for another day for the most part.

What you mostly need to know is that while Cyclops is starting a sort of meandering, directionless revolution mostly consisting of posting videos of himself online, his brother is busy becoming a shill.

So all of that brings us to the beginning of this issue, which is the uncanny Avengers.
