It's also a big day for the Bendigo Spirit here at SEN. They're having their big media day, so Abby Verong will join us in the studio a little bit later on.
Adam WhiteHOST
And also Ava Usher will join us, uh, the Rising Star winner this week in the AFLW.
Adam WhiteHOST
So lots of different things, but, uh, more than anything else, uh, I want your calls and of course the temper text as well, because, uh, it is Metricon Midday Madness.
Adam WhiteHOST
So, uh, give us a call and we'll, uh, hopefully have, uh, a chat to you very soon.

It is time to talk some AFLW now because Ava Usher is the Rising Star nominee for this weekend.
Adam WhiteHOST
Three Gold Coast Suns have earned nominations this year, and we're doing it thanks to Macca's.
Ava UsherGUEST
Um, obviously when as I was younger and now I get to look back and that's me, I'm the one playing footy, and I'm the one getting there two hours early to put my boots on and play, and the little girls are all coming to watch, um, me play and my teammates play who have also grown up here, and yeah, it's just really exciting for the fans.
Adam WhiteHOST
We're talking to Ava Usher, who's just won, uh, the latest, uh, Rising Star nomination in AFLW.
Adam WhiteHOST
So Ava, when, when you're playing now, if you are saying to your friends or to your family what you're doing, is it more a, a normal thing now rather than, "Oh, okay." Is it, is it more now, "Oh, that's good"? Like is there, is that sort of that different reaction to you saying that this is the sport that you choose to play?
Ava UsherGUEST
Um, yeah, I think, um, they really...
Tom HalesHOST
I also want...
Tom HalesHOST
I've just seen Ava Usher is priced at 751K.
Tom HalesHOST
Like, average of 60.
Tom HalesHOST
After going nine- that 19 and following it up with a 46, going 75, 65, 19, 77 with more midfield time, more time high up the ground.
Andy MaherHOST
Mm-hmm.
Andy MaherHOST
Um, Ava Usher.
Andy MaherHOST
Yeah.
Andy MaherHOST
First-time player.
Laura SpurwayHOST
And then you're just seeing these moments from other players.
Laura SpurwayHOST
Like Ava Usher comes in and lays 13 tackles.
Laura SpurwayHOST
That's huge.
Laura SpurwayHOST
Yeah.
Laura SpurwayHOST
And then you're just seeing these moments from other players.

Laura SpurwayHOST

Laura SpurwayHOST
Yeah.

I also believe that the return of Single further confirms, in my eyes, Anne Hatchard sitting more time inside forward 50.
LiamHOST
It probably also takes away the smattering of CBAs for Sunny Lappin and Ava Usher that they've been getting in the past fortnight.
LiamHOST
So again, I think that's a reason to maybe be looking to trade both those rookies out.
LiamHOST
I can think you can make the case to trade out Anne Hatchard.
LiamHOST
I also believe that the return of single further confirms in my eyes and Hatchard sitting more time inside forward 50.

CourtneyHOST
Um, looking at our coaches votes for this week, I mean, it was wall-to-wall Gold Coast, obviously Charlie Rowbottom getting 10 and Hatchard got nine, uh, seven, sorry.
CourtneyHOST
Uh, Niamh McLaughlin got six, Maddie Press Barker's getting three, Daisy Darcy, uh, getting two and both Havana Harris and Ava Usher getting one each.
CourtneyHOST
Sorry, Havana Harris is a great name for a Suns player.
CourtneyHOST
That is like the most Gold Coast name I think I've ever heard.
