But in saying that, there's other research that tells a different story.

So AutoTrader's latest data suggests that some popular Chinese SUVs retain around 70% to 75% of their original value after three years.

And Cars.co.za found that the Haval Jolion and the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro actually held their value better than several established competitors.

So yes, while some Chinese cars do depreciate faster, there's little evidence that this applies to every Chinese brand.

It's crazy.

So that talk is all around social media.

So they want to help them build stronger businesses that will obviously help auto traders.

So, yeah, that talk is very social media heavy, not the leadership, more human side.

So they, Autotrader puts an average used car at about 430, 440,000, which is smack bang where Chinese crossovers, EVs are priced.

You can get a, uh, a Geely E2, BYD Dolphin from around 325 to 400 for the top spec.

Uh, hybrids coming at 425.

So looking, and this is April 22, 26 data using Autotrader.

Chinese vehicles average price for 2024 car 382,000, uh, and, uh, 29,000 kilometers on the clock.

And then you playing in the 550 560 000 rand category and then i think it starts to represent slightly better value but the in the top spec titanium there's just too many rivals for it to to overcome i think but certainly something to put on your your test drive list if you're shopping in the segment
