hello everyone and welcome to the live stream yes that is the old Interlagos you can see it was just flat out down the straight into a very quick left hander banked as well it was basically almost an oval with lots of stuff going on in the middle fabulous circuit still not bad today very short lap they've taken away a lot of the great corners notably the Curva del Sol which was a lovely long constant radius right hander behind the pits and then they go back onto some of the track that's used today But anyway, I thought I'd use that.
Peter WindsorHOST

Big thanks to AP Archive for that.

1973 Brazilian Grand Prix in which Emerson Fittipaldi won in front of his home crowd.

Peter WindsorHOST
56:34
Hi, Peter.
Peter WindsorHOST
56:35
After a difficult weekend in Mexico, how do you think Leclerc will approach Interlagos? During the red flag, he looked drained.
Peter WindsorHOST
56:42
His later struggles weren't surprising, but his defense against Norris was heroic.
Frederik VestiGUEST
56:48
Yeah,
Declan QuigleyGUEST
30:57
He needs a really good finish to the season to convince anyone to take him, I think.
Eve ConwayHOST
31:02
And then finally, I suppose, looking ahead this weekend, we're in Interlagos in Brazil.
Eve ConwayHOST
31:06
Probably one of my favorite races ever that we go to each year.
Eve ConwayHOST
31:09
It's such a classic race circuit.
Eve ConwayHOST
31:15
Obviously, the championship is over, but there's still so much of a grab in the constructors.
Eve ConwayHOST
31:19
I'm paying attention to the Audi Haas fight down for P7.
Eve ConwayHOST
31:22
What are you most looking forward to this weekend in Interlagos to see?
Declan QuigleyGUEST
31:26
A bit of good racing.
Richard ReadyHOST
0:22
I've heard the battle for 12th in the drivers is heating up, but we will discuss what else is there.
Richard ReadyHOST
0:28
remaining in the season to keep our interests up I'm being I'm being doom and gloom of course because I always like looking forward to Interlagos it is probably my third favorite track on the calendar I would say so I rate it that highly I think it's unfairly called a go-kart track I think it's got some absolutely beautiful things about it I'm not one for undulation for the sake of undulation but that roller coaster in section one makes it glorious as does the atmosphere and the fans there so So, oh, who am I? I'm Richard Reddy.
Richard ReadyHOST
1:01
I'm the host of the show, but my friends call me Spanner.
Richard ReadyHOST
1:03
So let's be friends because we're an independent podcast.

Chris StevensPANELIST
26:41
He's got all of 2027 to try and do that.
Chris StevensPANELIST
26:44
When you're coming in just for these last couple of races, you've done no testing in the car whatsoever.
Chris StevensPANELIST
26:50
And also... oddly enough it's his home race but I don't think he's ever raced around into Lagos so because he came straight to Europe to race in from Formula 4 so it's going to be a car and a track he's completely unfamiliar with he just needs to not throw it in the barriers
Matt TrumpetsHOST
27:10
would he have raced there prior to going to Europe though I mean no I don't I don't know how well his entire
Sean KennedyHOST
0:16
Even though one championship was won, there's still plenty left to play for, as I mentioned.
Sean KennedyHOST
0:20
And joining me to discuss how that is going to shake out this weekend in Interlagos is Annika.
Sean KennedyHOST
0:24
Good evening.
Sean KennedyHOST

How are

6 MINS LATER

Sean KennedyHOST
6:28
Right, so obviously this weekend is the Brazilian Grand Prix at what's pretty unanimously agreed to be one of the single greatest racing circuits on the planet.
Sean KennedyHOST
6:36
The...
Sean KennedyHOST
6:37
Autodromo Carlos Autodromo José Carlos Pache apologies Portuguese speakers better known to all of us as Interlagos incredible circuit dates all the way back to the 40s has hosted the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Brazil since 1973 and has expanded its contract to 2030 so thankfully with some iffy here's and there's about racetracks and Formula 1 contracts in the past couple of months that we've discussed we are not losing what is probably the best of them It's a great track.
Sean KennedyHOST
7:04
It's obviously changed quite a lot.
Luke MartinHOST
2:25
Well, look, like I said, right, it's off the back of, in my opinion, it's very close.
Luke MartinHOST
2:32
Silverstone, Interlagos.
Luke MartinHOST
2:34
They are, for me, the two best tracks on the calendar.
Luke MartinHOST
2:37
And you ask me on one day, I'll say Silverstone.
Luke MartinHOST
2:39
You ask me on another, I'll say Interlagos.
Luke MartinHOST
2:42
So I am absolutely pumped for this weekend.
Luke MartinHOST
2:46
Genuinely.

15 MINS LATER

Matt JacksonHOST
17:26
uh seven
Daniel LucasHOST
32:09
That results a great ground or background to the new development.
Daniel LucasHOST
32:13
Formula One has a November 4th championship calculation shows how Mercedes can secure the team's title Interlagos.
Daniel LucasHOST
32:23
Mercedes has 630 points, Ferrari 504.
Daniel LucasHOST
32:28
The gap is 126 with the Grand Prix remaining.
Jamie MuffettHOST
1:59
But yeah, there are others there too.
Jamie MuffettHOST
2:02
Okay, let's move on to Interlagos this coming weekend.
Jamie MuffettHOST
2:09
So first things first, let's do a little Interlagos track overview.
Jamie MuffettHOST
2:14
Interlagos, a.k.a.
Jamie MuffettHOST
2:16
Between the Lakes.
Jamie MuffettHOST
2:18
That's what Interlagos means.
Jamie MuffettHOST
2:20
Makes sense.
Jamie MuffettHOST
2:21
And it's just to the south of Sao Paulo.
Mark HughesHOST
35:34
I don't know.
Mark HughesHOST
35:36
but Brazil certainly Interlagos is a track where you can be quick in all sorts of different ways in terms of the car in terms of its downforce and it's good news for Ferrari in particular just as Mexico was because the power sensitivity is not that great so Ferrari obviously struggles on power but it's not that important around Interlagos so yeah we may have another Hamilton Leclerc episode who knows and yeah I think anything to that
Bryn LucasHOST
36:05
Yeah, yeah.
Bryn LucasHOST
36:06
Finally, before we move on from Antonelli, let's talk about his teammate, George Russell.
speaker_1HOST
42:58
We are in Brazil.
TawanaHOST
42:59
Interlagos.
TawanaHOST
43:00
We are going to Brazil, folks.
TawanaHOST
43:05
71 laps.
TawanaHOST
43:24
Yeah.
TawanaHOST
43:29
It could be a 95% chance of rain on Saturday and then on the race itself it's going to be a 90% apparently, I think.
BenHOST
43:36
Some championship implications for P2 going into Interlagos.
TawanaHOST
43:47
Yes, yes, yes.
AndyHOST
0:24
All right, it is time to go between the lakes.
AndyHOST
0:28
Interlagos in Sao Paulo, Brazil awaits.
AndyHOST
0:32
It's the last leg of this North American triple header.
AndyHOST
0:36
And we're going to do a preview episode because we got to get excited for this one because I love this track.

12 MINS LATER

CodyHOST
12:38
I think you pretty much nailed it.
CodyHOST
12:39
That's how I would have said it.
CodyHOST
12:40
So Formula One goes and races in Interlagos, formerly known as, formerly known as the Autodromo José Carlos Pache.
CodyHOST
12:50
That is located in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
