Austrian Airlines

... we don't talk about often, but I love a good airline beer.

And Austrian Airlines is now serving what they call or what I guess is referred to as the liquid gold of Salzburg, Stiegl Goldbrau, the signature network-wide beer of Austrian Airlines now, which is apparently served in all cabins on long-haul flights and is in business class on short-haul flights and available for purchase in economy on European flights.

We have talked probably in the past about how we enjoy when an airline has a beer that is bespoke to it.

This is a famous beer.

It is not a beer that is brewed specifically for Austrian Airlines, or it's not only available on Austrian Airlines.

But it is so refreshing to see an airline in the Lufthansa group not just carry trash beer like- I'm just gonna say it, like, like Heineken or Bud Light or something like that all too often airlines-

I thought you were gonna say Carlsberg

Yo! Yo!

But Starlink also wrote on X, Starlink is now delivering fast, reliable connectivity onboard Austria Airlines so passengers can stream, scroll and surf effortlessly at 30,000 feet.

But Doge Designer also shared, the early demand for Starlink in the UAE looks insane.

Starlink is already at capacity in parts of Dubai and Sardja with new customers adjoining a waitlist as SpaceX works quickly to add more capacity, according to Kalash Time.

So go ahead and filter to just chase.

When I do this right now, it tells me that Austrian Airlines flies from LAX to Vienna to Venice on September 16th.

Like that's not even three weeks away from the time that we're recording.

We're recording this on August 27th.

So it says that I can book this flight with Austrian Airlines from LA to Vienna to Venice on September 16th.

It says that I can, even though Austrian's the one who's flying this flight, I can book this using Air Canada Aeroplan points for 60,000 Air Canada miles and $103.80 in taxes.

That's awesome.

For an economy flight, I'd say this is maybe a little bit on the expensive side because I, you know, because I've, I've made plenty of bookings across the pond.

Dolly Parton International Terminal, where British Airways flies and hopefully Lufthansa someday.

And maybe now that it has Dolly Parton's name, maybe we can see Austrian, JAL, and I don't know, Ethiopian fly there.

Who knows? That'd be good marketing.

Ethiopian will ever fly to Nashville.

It generally works against us, not for us.

Keep that in mind, Air Canada is getting more married segment availability, especially on Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian type partners.

That's one frustrating thing.

Can you clarify what a married segment is as well? A married segment is where, for example, you want to go from, say, New York to Zurich.

It gets frustrating because you see the flights.

It's available if you want to go to a second point in Europe, but not if you want to end your journey in Zurich.

Air Canada does that a lot, especially for Lufthansa, Swiss, Austrian-type partners, especially in Europe.

One thing I noticed recently was that some award space continues to be hidden to public members.
