Olympics in Melbourne where he won a gold medal for I think it was the 1500 metres but he was only 21 when he won he was definitely an underdog and I have the shoes that he wore in Melbourne they never made their way back to Ireland with him they're actually in the Australian Sports Museum in Melbourne so our objects of Irish sports spread far and wide and I suppose Ronnie, you know, there was a lot of, you know, celebration of him afterwards and it was hopeful that, you know, he'd go on to win more medals and more championships.

Shannon GillGUEST

Shannon GillGUEST
