The organisation representing our pork producers, Pork Limited, is incensed that Mexican fast food chain Guzmani Gomez is importing pork from Denmark.

It has more than 230 stalls across Australia and Rob Farmer is Chief Marketing Officer and Interim CEO with Australian Pork Limited.

Rob, 230 fast food outlets must use an enormous amount of pork.

For the first time in 20 years, Australia's beef cattle industry is reviewing its $5 levy paid every time a beast is sold.

They're serving imported pork, uh, for example, in a pulled pork burrito, and the customers have no idea because it's not currently a requirement to call out on the menu.

Rob Farmer is the acting head of Australian Pork Limited, the industry body for Australia's pig industry.

He says the Guzman Y Gomez example is why his industry wants similar laws that apply now to Australian seafood, which make fast food chains and restaurants declare if their product is Australian imported or mixed.

It's just extremely inconsistent out there at the moment.
