Austin Spurs

Then there's Terris Reed, a two-way player, Malik Brown, and Jaden Quaintance, who I don't really expect to play at all.

And if he does, it's later in the year for the Austin Spurs.

The best target is a tough one because it just depends, but it-- I'm going to put Darren Fox as that guy because again, if I can get Darren Fox at pick ninety-eight, I will do that.

But it'd be the same thing if Steph Castle falls to seventy-eight in a points league, then that's a really good target.

going with a ceiling play on this team.

You're going for Quinn Snyder, who I used to cover when he was coach of the Austin Toros before they changed the Austin Spurs.

I was also at school when he was coach of Missouri.

I was gonna say your hat right now.

But it's gonna be fun to see in Austin.

So if you're in Austin and you wanna catch a Austin Spurs game, by all-

Mm

... by all means, go for it.

Yeah, go ahead.

The, the person you're, you're talking about there is Jacob Chance, and we were so surprised when he ultimately pivoted back and signed with the NBL because he was the head coach of the Austin Spurs.

Yeah.

And, and this isn't just a G League team.

Jacob Chance... just turned 33.

He was with the Austin Spurs last year.

Every time you turn on the TV during the finals, he's on TV rebounding for Wemby.

So he was in that ecosystem, but he chose, instead of staying there, he chose to take a job here, sign a multi-year deal.

When I just retired, I went to a camp.

He was the head coach of the Austin Spurs.

And I spent three weeks with him over there.

Got to know him better.

One of the ones that left, we're gonna see in a little more than a week, is Evan Brad's is gonna be here bringing his Belmont team in, uh, for your guys' first scrimmage, uh, of the preseason.

But let's talk first about, speaking of the Spurs, uh, the Austin Spurs in this instance, KJ Conklin, and what he brings to the group.

Well, KJ, um, you know, I really enjoyed getting to know him this summer.

KJ has ran our player development program, and the, the more that I've, uh, again, learned and become, you know, the, my time being a head coach, there's so many different layers to the organization, to how you get guys better, and KJ, uh, has really done a great job with that.

These should be super chats in the future, but I do think.

Who the fuck's your money at, buddy? Which of the rookies do you think will get the most playing time and excel in the Austin Spurs? And does CB do a stint in Austin at any point this season?

No, that part's a no.

Yeah, I would be shocked to see Carter Bryant in Austin this year.
