Round-Up | Diamond League 2027 set, results, moment of 2026 and what goes into being a commentator?
R
20:43Rich NewmanHOST
So let's put it the other way around.
R
20:45Rich NewmanHOST
How much would you like to see? I think, Mo, part of the conversation when we are talking about Audrey Vero, we're talking about Keeley Hodgkinson, Femke Bruder's bowl.
R
20:54Rich NewmanHOST
We've still got Mary Mora to come back in there.
R
20:57Rich NewmanHOST
You've got Lillian Adira throwing, I think, Mo.
Athing Mu pregnant, has adidas changed the game? + Sawe's sub-2 hour marathon or Josh Kerr's WR mile?
R
56:21Robert JohnsonHOST
No.
R
56:22Robert JohnsonHOST
So we have our five world records and the unofficial world record by Wero.
R
56:27Robert JohnsonHOST
That's it.
R
56:27Robert JohnsonHOST
That's all we're allowed to consideration.
W
56:35Weldon JohnsonHOST
That was better than the Europeans.
W
56:37Weldon JohnsonHOST
Jakob winning ultimates was pretty damn good, but that's honorable mention for the Let's Run fans.
W
56:47Weldon JohnsonHOST
Wero is excluded.
W
56:47Weldon JohnsonHOST
I'm sorry.
The Warm UP Track 2026: Nadine Visser - Good things come to those who wait
E
4:08Ed HarryHOST
And then we had that amazing women's 800 metres duel.
E
4:11Ed HarryHOST
Audrey Vero, who's been a revelation this season, finishing ahead of the defending champion and Olympic champion, Keeley Hodgkinson, with the ever-improving Femke Brodersbo taking a bronze medal on that occasion.
E
4:22Ed HarryHOST
But yeah, fantastic memories of those Europeans.
A
4:25Adi AdedoyinHOST
Yeah, another athlete who had a great moment was the hurdler Nadine Visser, who claimed her first major title outdoors.
Inside the Mind of Jakob Ingebrigtsen: The Guardian's Sean Ingle on Talent, Obsession and a Record-Breaking Track Season
S
7:13Sean IngleGUEST
It's about, you know, setting a very fast time, but she can't kill Orfero.
S
7:18Sean IngleGUEST
And Vero comes back and beats her.
S
7:20Sean IngleGUEST
And unfortunately, Hodgson then, you know, injured her knee rather badly.
S
7:25Sean IngleGUEST
And that seemed to affect her.
25 MINS LATER
S
32:18Sean IngleGUEST
So it promises to be incredibly exciting next year as well.
R
32:23Ross TuckerHOST
who would be your best athletes of the year men and women if we give you and you can have a couple of options if you want you have to commit to
S
32:30Sean IngleGUEST
one only I think Vero would have to be up there I really do I think you've got to give Josh Kerr I thought Alison DeSantis was amazing my side Russell was amazing I would give a nod to Cooper Luckhouse given his age And Jakob Ingebrigtsen, I really think it was only really in Budapest where we spoke to Henrik, his brother, and then Jakob, we realised that he hadn't only torn the sheath of his Achilles or injured it and had an operation on it rather, he'd also had a sort of a lingering flu throughout May and June.
S
33:11Sean IngleGUEST
So he'd had very little running.
Influences on Performance
Z
53:48ZachHOST
But my personal highlight outside of the men's mile, the, the other event that I just thought was gonna be so interesting and did not disappoint, we finally got to see in the women's 800, uh, Werro, Hodgkinson, Broeders-Bol match up, all three of them finally racing against each other.
Z
54:09ZachHOST
Audrey Werro of Switzerland, Keely Hodgkinson, and Femke Broeders-Bol.
Z
54:14ZachHOST
They have run against each other in various combinations, but not all three at the same time this season.
Z
54:19ZachHOST
And I have to say, it did not disappoint.
Z
54:20ZachHOST
It was a supreme battle.
Z
54:22ZachHOST
But once again, I've been saying this all summer, Audrey Werro is just next level.
Z
54:28ZachHOST
She is the best 800-meter runner of all time.
Z
54:31ZachHOST
She does not have the world record, but the two in front of her on that list, 'cause she's third overall, um, the two in front of her on that list were, if not known to be cheaters, were highly suspected to be cheaters.
Tigst Assefa's 2:11 on a Ruptured Achilles
D
56:03David LipmanHOST
So I completely agree with this from Nike.
D
56:04David LipmanHOST
Like she wears that and then gets beaten by Audrey Werro?
X
56:07Xylon van EyckHOST
Mm.
D
56:07David LipmanHOST
It's like awkward.
Episode 105: From Freshmen Miles to Crystal Springs: Building a High School XC Powerhouse (and other updates)
D
28:20Dave FrankHOST
That's her, that was her best this season to get fourth.
D
28:23Dave FrankHOST
But yeah, Audrey Werro, Hodgkinson, and, and Femke, one, two, three.
D
28:28Dave FrankHOST
A good run for Hodgkinson.
D
28:30Dave FrankHOST
She has not been, you know, she hasn't had a great summer.
Assefa's Achilles "Rupture" and a Near-Miss Marathon World Record / Vollering and McNulty Win the Road Worlds / UCI Crash Data on Road Cycling
R
50:24Ross TuckerHOST
Like, yeah, you'll feel great and that's cool.
R
50:26Ross TuckerHOST
But when it comes to the 720-meter mark of an 800-meter race and Audrey Vero, who's also optimized everything she can possibly do, and Femke Boll is on your right shoulder, like they also have the same things going for them.
R
50:40Ross TuckerHOST
It's no longer the distinguishing factor.
R
50:42Ross TuckerHOST
And so that's why I would dismiss it.
24. In the Call Room: Morgs' returns, the science of sport and it's The Call Room awards season
M
31:02Mitch DyerHOST
She ran PBs in the 800 indoor and outdoor, the 600, and ran a 50 point to run a PB in the 400.
M
31:10Mitch DyerHOST
Audrey Vero was my gold...
M
31:15Mitch DyerHOST
Academy Award.
M
31:16Mitch DyerHOST
Oh, thank you.
36: Rest Days & Reckless Temptation
D
89:34Dylan NaylorHOST
It's a good job he's male
C
89:35Callum O'NeillHOST
because Werro would be watching over her shoulder with him coming past.
D
89:40Dylan NaylorHOST
yeah yeah yeah all
C
89:44Callum O'NeillHOST
right i'll move on to mine boys um josh kerr uh again he's released um a youtube video this week and it's on his instagram of uh a 1k time trial he did before budapest for the ultimate champs and he ran 212 at 66 at altitude so he's put it down as 5330 uh yeah 5,335 feet which is just over 1600 meters altitude and he's ran uh eight tenths behind the world record for the 1k which we've already chatted offline about how weak we think that world record is but that's some i mean he's moving there isn't he yeah it's the fact he's training 1k It's
