It was recently reported that the head of Audi Sport has mentioned that the Audi team is still evaluating how they can keep the five-cylinder alive with the upcoming EU7 emissions regulations, how they can make it work.

with an engine that first debuted in the Audi 100 back in 1976.

There's not many basic engines that are still out there today that started back in the 70s, right? But the Audi five-cylinder is one of them.

Audi are reporting that they are going to keep, at least they're going to make all efforts necessary.

The five-cylinder engine is going to have an engineering and an investment program behind it to get it through Euro 7 regulations.
